25 years of 'Balls and Glory'
The Lotto cycling team just ended its 25th season in a row. This event should not go by uncelebrated. In fact, not many sponsors survive that long in the cycling world. In addition, the Lotto cycling team became an important player in the international elite peloton. Two of the team’s cyclist provided the icing on the cake for Lotto. Cadel Evans won the world title and Philippe Gilbert obtained several victories.
From February 26th until October 3rd, the CRVV organises an exhibition with the juicy title '25 years of Balls and Glory', in which a wide overview of the last 25 years of the Lotto cycling team will be given.
Gratis tentoonstelling inkomhal: E-motions van Luc Huysman
Luc huysman, (Leuven 1962) docent tekenkunst aan de Leuvense academie voor schone kunsten, is sinds een tijdje bezig met de wielrennerij als onderwerp voor een reeks tekeningen en schilderijen. Sedert 25/02 staan zijn werken tentoon in de inkomhal van het CRVV. De 16 portretten van 20 x 20cm (les cyclistes) worden als een soort groepsportret getoond; kort bij elkaar; als een soort mozaiek. De tekeningen zelf vertellen telkens een détail uit de koers. Soms anekdotisch, soms bevragend, soms zelf relativerend. De link tussens de koers en kunst blijft steeds: het ‘afzien’. Telkens opnieuw trachten te creeëren, te winnen.
De werken zijn gratis te bezichtigen in de inkomhal van het CRVV t.e.m. zondag 2 mei.
